We would love to invite all staff to a Respectful Relationships Staff PD session led by dynamic and engaging youth expert, David Kobler from Your Choicez [enter date and time here].

Gain insight on some of the biggest challenges that young people are facing today as David shares first-hand stories and experiences he has gained from speaking directly to young people on topics like: sex, consent, sexting, pornography and relationships.

This presentation will address:

• The impact pornography is having on young people’s brains, their sexual development and their relationships.

• The hyper-sexualised landscape young people are navigating and the normalisation of sexting as a problematic means for connection.

• The ‘popularity myth’ that can be sending damaging messages that suggest happiness is found in the quantity of connections rather than the quality of relationships.

• The average age of first exposure to pornography is now 11 years of age.
• Almost 40% of sexting cases involve coercion.
• The majority of states in Australia now have Affirmative Consent laws.
• Almost every young person will at some point in their teen years face body image issues often linked to social media and pornography exposure.
• Despite young people growing up in one of the most connected generations in history, there are more reports of loneliness than ever before.
